The DFK Paris will, once again, participate in the CAA (College Art Association) Annual Conference, which will be held in Los Angeles this year. As in previous years, we will be sharing a booth with our colleagues from the INHA (Institut national d’histoire de l’art) at the Book and Trade Fair. Maria Bremer, former member of the “OwnReality” project from 2011 to 2015, currently a research assistant at Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History in Rome, Italy, will present a paper on “The Artwork as Process as Exhibition: Franco Vaccari’s Esposizione in tempo reale” at the panel discussion “‘Processi Italiani’: Examining Process in Postwar Italian Art, 1945–80,” organized by the Italian Art Society (IAS), on Wednesday, February 21, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM in room 410.

Chonja Lee, former visiting researcher at the DFK Paris in 2013/2014 (on a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)), currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bern, Switzerland, will participate in the panel discussion “Art, Agency, and the Making of Identities at a Global Level, 1600–2000, Part I and Part II,” organized by Noémie Etienne, head of the project “Building the Exotic?”, on Wednesday, February 21, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM in room 405 and from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM in room 409A.

Marine Schütz, fellow at the DFK Paris in 2016/2017, under the annual theme “Art in France in a Transcultural Context,” currently associated with the French branch of the European program “ECHOES – European Colonial Heritage Modalities in Entangled Cities,” will present a paper on “Entangled Mythologies: Race and Class in Hervé Télémaque’s Pop” at the panel discussion “Pop Art and Class, Part I and Part II” on Thursday, February 22, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in room 409A, and from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM in room 501B.
