Vita

Theresia Maier studies Art History and Archival Studies in her Masters at the University of Vienna. In 2023, she gained her first practical experience at the Uffizi’s Galleries in Florence, where she worked in the photographic cabinet, as well as at the Viennese auction house Auktionshaus Im Kinsky as an exhibition assistant. During her Bachelor's studies, she focused extensively on French modernism. Her thesis was titled “The Emancipation of the Nymph: A Comparison of the Male Gaze* in the Art of Édouard Manet and Tarsila do Amaral”. Since 2025, Theresia has been increasingly engaged with Brazilian modernism, particularly the intercultural connections between São Paulo and Paris. Her main interest lies in Tarsila do Amaral, her social circle, and her activities as a collector.

From September 2024 to February 2025, she completed an internship at the German Center for Art History (DFK  Paris).
