Anja Isabel Schneider is a researcher, curator, and founding director of apa press, Paris / Madrid. She holds an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and an MFA in Curating from Goldsmiths, University of London. From 2015-2020, she held a doctoral position in Curatorial Research at the M HKA, Museum of Contemporary Art, Antwerp / LGC, KU Leuven & UC Louvain. She presented her research and curatorial projects at institutions, such as MG+MSUM, Moderna galerija, Ljubljana (in the framework of the European museum confederation L’Internationale); Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona; TBA21, Vienna; Palais de Tokyo, Paris; JA.CA, Belo Horizonte; MARCO, Vigo; FRAC Lorraine; Goethe Institut/École des Beaux Arts, Nancy, among others. In 2011, she was the laureate of the 4th edition of MARCO/Frac Lorraine Award for Young Curators. Currently, she is an associate researcher of the research group ARTEA, Madrid. Her research focuses on transdisciplinary processes of artistic cooperation, with a special interest in performativity and ecologies of resistance. The postdoctoral fellowships she has been awarded this year include one from the Anna Polke Foundation in Cologne. From October to December 2023 she is a research fellow at the DFK Paris.
