Vita
Katharina Täschner is a photo researcher and a curator. In 2016, she gained her M.A. in art history at the University of Mainz, where she subsequently worked as a research assistant. From May 2019 till June 2021 she was a curatorial fellow in the program
"Museum Curators for Photography" funded by the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation which includes residencies at the Museum Folkwang, the Fotomuseum Winterthur, the Sammlung Fotografie at Münchner Stadtmuseum and the Centre Pompidou, Paris. She has participated in several international exhibition projects, covering topics from New Vision to Post-Photography. Her scholarly interests evolve around critical photo histories and the implications of photography’s versatile manifestations. In her ongoing dissertation project, supervised by Gregor Wedekind (Mainz) and Steffen Siegel (Essen), she examines conceptions of the photo reporter in relation to photographic publishing practices in inter-war Paris.
