History of Institutions and Sciences
History of Institutions and Sciences
In interrogating the relationship between art, art institutions in the sense of real or symbolic spaces of representation, and the history of the sciences as repositories of knowledge in the humanistic and natural sciences, this research area places the history of art and its actors into a sociological as well as an anthropological framework. In doing so, it considers the development of scientific and artistic knowledge and skills, whose protagonists are today engaged in accelerated exchange on a global scale and subject to a reconfiguration of the forms and channels of communication.
