Since the founding of the German Center for Art History (DFK Paris) in 1997, the development of its research library has attracted much interest and support from many individuals and institutions, not only in Germany but around the world.
During the foundation phase, it was due in large part to the generous support from the Robert Bosch Foundation that the center was able to accept and make available Hermann Wiesler’s substantial donation of more than 35,000 titles. Subsequently, thanks to the Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach Foundation, the library’s collection and floor space were significantly expanded. We are also very grateful to the Friends of DFK Paris, whose support allowed the library to acquire rare first editions and foundational works.
